If you ever wished you were a better writer, it may be easier than you think. Well, not easy, but more simple than either ‘having talent’ or not. Writing is a basic human tool for expression, and one way to access deeper layers of honesty and integrity, as well as universal (or emotional) intelligence.
Learning how to turn feelings into words is an art that anyone can master. You don’t have to be a poet to speak honestly and vulnerably. In fact, the more you practice wielding the word with integrity and according to your personal style, the more you sharpen your ability to create your own destiny.
In this podcast episode, Charley Zheng and I talk about how to use the practice of writing as a channel to greater authenticity in a time of uncertainty and mixed realities. We both come from the marketing + advertising industry that has seen a lot of shifts recently, including the introduction and use of AI.
We’ve both found ourselves creating the next steps in our career from a place of intuition and feeling… which doesn’t always ‘make sense’ on the surface. On our own separate paths, we are both coming to similar conclusions: relying on a different type of knowledge that is connected to emotional intelligence produces a different type of result. One that ultimately feels more energizing and open to possibilities, instead of feeling trapped in societal expectations and professional structures that have left us feeling drained.
This conversation represents going on a journey - you might not get concrete answers, but you will be exposed to questions that help you think about your own path.
